Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for the dough)

½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for garlic butter filling)

6 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp black pepper

Grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Extra flour for dusting

Instructions

Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Make Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour and salt. Add the melted butter and the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.

Knead: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and black pepper until well combined.

Shape Rolls: After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the surface.

Roll Up: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly to form a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, cut side up, ensuring they're close but not touching. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake: Once risen, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the rolls. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve: Let the rolls cool for a few minutes, then brush with any remaining garlic butter. Serve warm for the best flavor experience!
