Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate chips

1 cup white chocolate chips

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted butter, stirring until well blended.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips. If using, add the chopped nuts at this stage as well.

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (beware of overbaking!).

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Lift them out using the parchment overhang and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares.
