Ingredients
  

8 oz (225 g) whole-wheat pasta (penne or fusilli works well)

1 cup cottage cheese, drained

2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

    Sauté Garlic and Tomatoes: In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes until they start to blister and soften. Stir in red pepper flakes (if using), oregano, salt, and pepper.

      Combine Ingredients: Reduce the heat to low. Add the cooked pasta back to the pot with the tomatoes. Stir in the cottage cheese and mix well, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired creaminess.

        Garnish and Serve: Remove from the heat, stir in fresh basil, and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional basil leaves for garnish.
