Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth

1 cup tomato sauce

2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Lettuce leaves for garnish

Sliced tomatoes for topping

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Drain excess fat if necessary, then stir in Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, tomato sauce, and tomato paste.

Season with chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

While the mixture cooks, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Once the sauce has thickened, spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each hamburger bun.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the prepared beef mixture.

Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and top each sandwich with fresh lettuce and sliced tomatoes. Cover with the top half of the bun.

                      Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4
