Ingredients

1 loaf of Italian bread or French baguette

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Red pepper flakes (for added heat)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until they start to soften and caramelize, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until the steak is just browned and no longer pink, about 3-4 minutes. Mix the vegetables with the steak to combine.

Slice the Italian bread or baguette in half lengthwise, and scoop out some of the soft bread from the inside to make room for the filling.

Spoon the steak and vegetable mixture generously into the hollowed-out bread. Layer the provolone cheese slices evenly over the top.

Place the prepared cheesesteak bread on the baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and, if desired, sprinkle red pepper flakes for extra heat.

Slice into serving portions and enjoy!
