1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese

4 burger buns, toasted

1 cup crispy fried onions

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp sriracha (adjust for spice level)

Fresh lettuce leaves

1 large tomato, sliced

Pickles (optional)

Instructions
 

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well but do not overwork the meat to keep it tender.

    Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

      Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

        While the burgers are cooking, mix the mayonnaise and sriracha together in a small bowl to create a spicy mayo.

          Once the burgers are cooked, assemble the burgers: spread a generous amount of the spicy mayo on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
