Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 cup lump crab meat, drained

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (for topping)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt until well combined.

Add the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to mix until it's crumbly and resembles coarse sand.

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese gently into the mixture.

In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk with crab meat, chopped parsley, and black pepper until combined.

Pour the buttermilk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the dough.

Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, drop generous portions of the crab mixture into the center of each biscuit on the baking sheet.

With the remaining dough, gently encase the crab mixture, forming a rustic ball or mound for each biscuit.

Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning for extra flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

Allow the biscuits to cool slightly before serving.

Prep Time: 20 mins | Total Time: 40 mins | Servings: 12 biscuits

                          - Presentation Tips: Serve warm on a wooden board or a decorative platter, garnished with a sprinkle of extra chopped parsley and a side of lemon wedges for added freshness.
