Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup whole milk, warmed to about 110°F (43°C)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly

2 large eggs

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp cinnamon (for filling)

1 cup brown sugar (packed, for filling)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened, for filling)

1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)

2-3 tbsp cream cheese, softened (for frosting)

1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

1-2 tbsp milk (for frosting)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix the warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar and the yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.

Roll the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about 16x24 inches). Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough.

Shape the Rolls: Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice the log into 12 equally sized rolls and place them in a greased baking pan.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffed.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the Rolls: Bake the rolls for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove them from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

Make the Frosting: In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and enough milk to achieve your desired frosting consistency.

Frost the Rolls: Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls before serving. Enjoy!
