Ingredients

1 package of frozen Texas toast (8 slices)

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)

1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni or any favorite toppings

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Prepare Texas Toast: Place the frozen Texas toast slices on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, just until they start to become golden but are not fully crisp.

Make the Sauce Mixture: In a bowl, mix the marinara sauce with garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well.

Top the Toast: Remove the Texas toast from the oven and spoon a generous amount of the marinara sauce mixture over each slice.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce on each slice, followed by a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.

Add Toppings: Arrange the sliced bell peppers, black olives, and pepperoni over the cheese according to personal preference.

Final Bake: Return the topped Texas toast to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish: Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing.

Serve: Slice each toast into halves or quarters and serve warm as a delightful appetizer or a main dish!
