Ingredients

4 cups water

2 tablespoons loose black tea or 4 bags of black tea

1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved

1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

1/4 cup honey (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)

Juice of 1 lemon

Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil.

Once boiling, add the loose tea or tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. If using loose tea, strain it out after steeping.

Add the pitted cherries and grated ginger into the hot tea and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

Stir in the honey, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well combined. Remove from heat.

Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then strain out the solid ingredients.

Add the lemon juice to the tea infusion and mix well. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1-2 hours.

To serve, fill a glass with ice and pour the chilled cherry ginger tea over it. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
