Ingredients

1 large round sourdough bread loaf

1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped

1 cup cooked crab meat (or imitation crab)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)

2 green onions, sliced

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Slice the top off the sourdough bread loaf and carefully scoop out the interior to create a bowl, leaving about an inch of bread around the edges. Set the scooped-out bread aside for later use.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp and crab meat.

Add the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and green onions to the bowl.

Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste, then mix thoroughly until well combined and creamy.

Spoon the seafood filling into the hollowed-out bread bowl, packing it in gently.

Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly, and the bread is warmed through.

While the seafood bread bowl is baking, you can toast the scooped-out bread pieces for dipping if desired.

Once done, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing into the filled bread bowl.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with the toasted bread pieces for dipping.
