Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a healthier option)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

½ cup beef broth or water

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Optional toppings: chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, or jalapeños

Instructions

Heat the Olive Oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Allow it to heat up for about a minute.

Sauté the Aromatics: Add the chopped onion to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Then, add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Brown the Meat: Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season: Lower the heat back to medium. Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the meat evenly with the spices.

Add the Liquids: Pour in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth (or water). Stir to combine all the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Simmer and Thicken: Reduce the heat to low and let the taco meat simmer uncovered for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld and the mixture to thicken.

Finish with Lime: Once thickened, remove from the heat and stir in the fresh lime juice.

Serve: Spoon the taco meat into tortillas or taco shells. Top with your favorite toppings such as chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, or jalapeños.

                  Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4-6 tacos |

Enjoy your ultimate taco experience! 🌮✨
