Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

8 small corn tortillas

1 cup diced onions

1 cup chopped cilantro

1 lime, cut into wedges

1 avocado, sliced

Salsa or hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

Begin by marinating the flank steak. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this marinade evenly over the steak and let it rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature (or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator).

Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Once heated, grill the flank steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, until pliable but not crispy.

Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain.

To assemble the tacos, place a generous amount of sliced steak in each tortilla. Top with diced onions, chopped cilantro, and avocado slices. Squeeze lime juice over the top for extra flavor.

Serve with salsa or hot sauce on the side for those who like a bit of heat.
