Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

3 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ricotta cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined—be careful not to overmix.

With your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Set aside on a plate.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet.

Sear the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes, turning them occasionally until they are browned all over. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your skillet.

Once the meatballs are browned, carefully pour the marinara sauce over them in the skillet. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.

Cover the skillet and let the meatballs cook in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cooked through (internal temperature should be 160°F/70°C).

Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Let sit for a few minutes before serving.

Garnish meatballs with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve hot with crusty bread or over a bed of spaghetti.
