Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup pickled jalapeños, diced (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons fresh chives or green onions, chopped

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Olive oil for frying

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder until well combined.

Slowly add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. Don't over-mix!

On a floured surface, gently knead the dough for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.

Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, pickled jalapeños, chives, and smoked paprika until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough rectangle.

Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape.

Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch thick pieces.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil to coat the bottom.

Place the sliced rolls in the skillet, cut side up, and cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom.

Carefully flip the rolls over using tongs or a spatula and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until both sides are nicely browned and the cheese is bubbling.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 12 rolls

                          - Presentation Tips: Serve the rolls warm, garnished with extra chopped chives and a small bowl of sour cream for dipping.
