Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 large onion, sliced

2 bell peppers (one red, one green), sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon black bean sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sliced green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Mix well to coat all the pieces. Allow it to marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Prepare the Stir-Fry Base: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and let it get hot.

Cook the Steak: Add the marinated flank steak in a single layer, cooking without stirring for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Flip the meat pieces and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Combine and Flavor: Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Add the oyster sauce, black bean sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir everything together until well combined and heated through, about 2 minutes.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately over a bed of cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor and crunch!
