2 cloves garlic, minced

Juice of 2 limes

Salt to taste

1 avocado, diced (optional for creaminess)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Place the tomatillos and jalapeño on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the tomatillos are slightly charred and softened.

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

In a blender or food processor, combine the roasted tomatillos, jalapeño, fresh cilantro, minced garlic, and lime juice. Blend until you achieve a chunky consistency.

Taste the salsa and add salt according to your preference.

If desired, fold in the diced avocado for a creamy texture.

Transfer the salsa verde to a bowl and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
