Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage (bulk, without casings)

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes and green chilies (like Rotel), drained

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Hot sauce for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, drained tomatoes and green chilies, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until everything is well mixed and creamy.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean, lightly floured surface. Separate the dough into triangles as indicated on the package.

Fill the Crescents: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a little shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mixture.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll the triangle over the filling to form a crescent shape. Press the edges to seal them tightly.

Arrange for Baking: Place the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are spaced about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and puffed up.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve warm with optional hot sauce for an extra kick.
