Ingredients

1 pound pork sausage (hot or mild, based on preference)

1 (10 oz) can of diced tomatoes with green chilies (Rotel)

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 (2.5 oz) package refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the pork sausage. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, diced tomatoes with green chilies (including their juice), cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the cream cheese is fully blended in.

Prepare Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles on a clean surface.

Fill the Crescents: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a bit of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling. Roll the dough starting from the wide end to the point, enclosing the filling as you go.

Bake: Place the filled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not touching. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions before serving. Enjoy warm as a delightful appetizer or snack!
