Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes and green chilies (like Rotel), drained

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, drained Rotel tomatoes, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well mixed and creamy.

Prepare the Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough into triangles as per package instructions. Make sure to pinch the seams of the dough together to prevent the filling from leaking.

Fill the Crescents: Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a bit of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling (optional). Roll the dough from the wide end to the point, encasing the filling well.

Bake: Arrange the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve: Once baked, let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired. Enjoy warm!
