Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut sourdough bread

1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper to create a flavorful garlic herb oil.

Brush one side of each slice of sourdough bread generously with the garlic herb oil.

Place the slices oil-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Spread a generous tablespoon of pizza sauce on each slice, followed by a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the mozzarella on each toast.

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Once done, remove the pizza toasts from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and flavor before serving.
