Ingredients

1 pound (450g) of mini cocktail sausages or hot dogs

1 can (8 oz) of crescent roll dough

1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon of poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into the individual triangles along the perforated lines.

Add Cheese: If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the base of each triangle, leaving a small border at the edges.

Apply Mustard: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on top of the cheese for a little extra flavor.

Wrap the Sausages: Place one mini sausage or hot dog at the widest edge of each triangle. Roll the dough over the sausage, tucking in the sides as you go to fully enclose the filling.

Add Seeds: If desired, sprinkle poppy seeds or sesame seeds on the top of each rolled sausage for added texture and flavor.

Egg Wash: Brush the tops of each wrapped sausage with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden color when baked.

Bake: Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed up.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and then garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm with additional Dijon mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.
