Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 green bell pepper, diced

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

4 soft hoagie rolls

Olive oil, for cooking

Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, additional cheese, or fresh parsley

Instructions

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of olive oil.

Add the diced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

Stir in the garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Drain any excess grease from the skillet, then stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all flavors.

Reduce the heat to low and sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese over the beef mixture. Cover the skillet for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.

While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the hoagie rolls in a separate pan or under the broiler until golden.

Once the cheese is melted, spoon generous portions of the cheesy beef mixture into each toasted hoagie roll.

Add any optional toppings you desire and serve immediately while hot.
