Ingredients

1 lb cooked chicken, shredded

1/2 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 package (12 counts) slider rolls or sweet Hawaiian rolls

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Chicken Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with basil pesto, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes (if using), and half of the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well incorporated.

Prepare the Slider Rolls: Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping them attached at the sides. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased baking dish.

Assemble the Sliders: Evenly spread the chicken mixture over the bottom half of the slider rolls. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.

Add the Top Half: Carefully place the top half of the rolls over the chicken filling.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture evenly over the top of the rolls.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Serve: Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.
