Ingredients

1 cup warm water (110°F)

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

2 tablespoons sugar

3 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.

Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches).

Evenly spread the pepperoni slices across the surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning over the pepperoni.

Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log, pinching the seams to seal.

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish or on a lined baking sheet. Ensure there’s space between each roll for expansion.

Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
