Ingredients

1 pound ziti pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1/4 cup provolone cheese, shredded

1/4 cup fontina cheese, shredded

2 cups marinara sauce

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the ziti pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, provolone cheese, fontina cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Combine Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, combine the cooked ziti pasta with the marinara sauce. Stir to combine thoroughly.

Layer the Dish: In the prepared baking dish, spread half of the pasta mixture into an even layer at the bottom. Top with half of the cheese mixture. Repeat with the remaining pasta and cheese mixtures, layering them carefully.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer of cheese.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve warm.
