Ingredients

4 slices of bread (white or whole grain)

1/2 cup Nutella spread

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons butter (for toasting)

A pinch of salt

Optional: Sliced strawberries or bananas for filling

Optional: Cinnamon sugar for dusting

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Assemble the Pies: Take two slices of bread and spread a generous layer of Nutella on each slice. On one slice, add a layer of the cream cheese mixture. If you’re using fruit, add a few slices on top of the cream cheese.

Create the Sandwich: Place the second slice of bread (with Nutella) on top of the cream cheese and fruit layer, forming a sandwich.

Seal the Edges: Use a fork to press down around the edges of the sandwich, sealing it tightly and creating a decorative edge.

Toast the Pies: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt one tablespoon of butter. Once melted, place the sandwich in the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the pan and flip the pie to the other side, toasting for another 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden.

Serve: Remove the Nutella toast pie from the skillet. Let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half. If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.

Enjoy: Serve warm with a side of fresh fruit or a drizzle of maple syrup.
