Ingredients
  

8 oz (225g) pasta of your choice (fettuccine, penne, or spaghetti)

2 cups (200g) fresh mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button mushrooms)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

1 cup (100g) grated parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried herbs (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about ½ cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain and set aside.

    Sauté the Mushrooms: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are browned and tender.

      Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

        Create the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine, then gradually add the grated parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

          Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it in the creamy mushroom sauce. Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using) to taste.

            Garnish and Serve: Once everything is well-mixed and heated through, remove from heat. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley for an extra touch.
