Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup chopped green onions

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional, for garnish)

1/4 cup chocolate syrup (optional, for a sweet twist)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Scrub the russet potatoes under running water and pat dry. Pierce each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until fork-tender.

While the potatoes are baking, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then set aside on paper towels to drain.

In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, melted butter, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.

Once the potatoes are done, carefully remove them from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice each potato lengthwise down the center and gently scoop out the insides into the mixing bowl, leaving the skins intact.

Add the crumbled bacon, half of the cheddar cheese, and half of the green onions to the potato mixture. Mix until everything is well combined.

Spoon the potato mixture back into the potato skins, packing it in generously. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and green onions.

Return the stuffed potatoes to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Optional: Once out of the oven, if you dare, garnish with mini marshmallows and a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a sweet contrast.

Serve hot and enjoy your indulgent Mississippi Mud Potatoes!
