Ingredients

1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 6-8 pounds)

1 cup pure maple syrup

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup water

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).

Remove the ham from its packaging and place it on a large roasting pan, cut side down.

In a medium saucepan, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper.

Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the glaze is well combined. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.

Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern about 1/4 inch deep, which will allow the glaze to penetrate better.

Brush about 1/3 of the glaze over the scored ham.

Add water to the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the ham moist during baking.

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours.

After 1.5 hours, remove the foil, and brush the ham with another layer of glaze. Continue baking uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, basting with more glaze every 10 minutes until caramelized and bubbly.

Once the ham has reached a deep golden brown color and heated through, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Serve the ham with any remaining glaze drizzled over the top.

                        Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 2 hr 30 min | Servings: 12-14

                          - Presentation Tips: Arrange the sliced ham on a large platter, pouring any excess glaze over the top, and garnish with fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) for a beautiful presentation.
