Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 box (12 oz.) vanilla wafers

1 (5 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whipped cream (for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk until well combined. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until fully incorporated. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

In a large serving dish or individual cups, start layering your banana pudding. Begin with a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.

Add a layer of the banana slices on top of the wafers followed by a layer of the pudding mixture.

Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of the pudding mixture on top.

Cover the dish or cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results. This allows the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.

Before serving, top each cup or the entire dish with dollops of whipped cream and a few additional banana slices for garnish.
