Ingredients

1 large loaf of Italian bread

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup cooked ground beef or sausage

2 cups marinara sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, cooked ground beef or sausage, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Cut the Italian bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet with the cut side facing up.

Drizzle olive oil evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

Spread a generous layer of marinara sauce over each half of the bread, followed by the ricotta mixture, and then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the cheese for added flavor if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden.

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before slicing into pieces for serving.
