Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for flavor)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - adjust for spice preference

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

4 cups cooked jasmine rice

1 cup steamed broccoli or your choice of vegetables

Optional: 1 fried egg per bowl

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

Drain excess fat if necessary, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet for flavor.

Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet with the beef, sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and Gochujang until smooth.

Pour the sauce over the beef in the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.

While the beef cooks, prepare the rice and steam your vegetables.

To serve, scoop a generous portion of cooked rice into bowls, top with the Korean ground beef mixture, steamed vegetables, and if desired, a fried egg on top.

Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
