Ingredients

1 package (8 oz) of cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup pineapple tidbits, drained

1 package (8 oz) of crescent dough

1/2 cup shredded coconut

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1/4 cup macadamia nuts, chopped (optional)

Extra shredded coconut for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Add Pineapple: Gently fold in the pineapple tidbits and shredded coconut into the cream cheese mixture.

Prepare Crescent Dough: Roll out the crescent dough on a lightly floured surface. Pinch the seams together to form a single sheet.

Shape the Danishes: Cut the dough into rectangles (approx. 4x6 inches). Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each rectangle, leaving some space at the edges. Fold the edges towards the center and pinch to secure, forming a pocket.

Egg Wash: Using a pastry brush, gently brush the tops of the Danish with the beaten egg. This will give them a golden, glossy finish while baking.

Optional Topping: If desired, sprinkle chopped macadamia nuts on top before baking for an extra crunch.

Bake: Place the Danish on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cool and Garnish: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Optionally sprinkle with extra shredded coconut while still warm for garnish.

Serve: Slice and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delightful King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake Danish!
