Ingredients

1 package of wonton wrappers (about 30 wrappers)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

3-4 jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)

2 green onions, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Optional: Ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeños, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and place about a teaspoon of the jalapeño cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water (you can use your finger or a pastry brush) to help seal it.

Fold the wonton in half diagonally to form a triangle, press to remove any air bubbles, and seal the edges tightly.

Repeat the process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium heat until hot (about 350°F / 175°C).

Carefully add a few wontons at a time to the hot oil, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

Serve the jalapeno popper wontons warm, with ranch dressing on the side for dipping. Enjoy!

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 25 mins | Servings: 4 (approximately 30 wontons)
