Ingredients

2 cups fresh blueberries, plus extra for garnish

4 cups water

4 black tea bags (or green tea for a lighter flavor)

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

½ cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

Lemon slices, for garnish

Mint leaves, for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags. Steep for about 5 minutes (or more for stronger flavor), then remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool.

While the tea is cooling, prepare the blueberry puree. In a blender, combine the fresh blueberries and blend until smooth. If desired, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the skins for a smoother texture.

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea, blueberry puree, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and honey or agave syrup. Stir well until mixed and the honey is dissolved.

Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the blueberry tea lemonade over the ice. Garnish each glass with lemon slices, extra blueberries, and a sprig of mint.

Stir gently before drinking to combine any settled ingredients, and enjoy this refreshing summer beverage!
