Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

1 lb chicken breast, cubed

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup milk

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup cream cheese

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

3/4 cup breadcrumbs

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Salt to taste

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the cubed chicken and season with black pepper, smoked paprika, and salt. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.

Add Honey: Once the chicken is almost done, drizzle the honey over the chicken in the skillet, stirring to coat. Allow it to caramelize slightly for about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, and cream cheese over medium heat. Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and incorporated. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Cheese it Up: Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. Then, stir in the Dijon mustard for added flavor. Add salt to taste.

Combine Pasta and Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, the honey pepper chicken, and the cheese sauce. Mix until the pasta is evenly coated.

Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish.

Breadcrumb Topping: In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with a little olive oil until coated. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the mac and cheese.

Bake: Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
