Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinade Preparation: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and apple cider vinegar. Reserve a few tablespoons of the marinade for later use.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Seal the bag (or cover the dish) and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for more flavor).

Cooking the Chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Searing: Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Glazing: In the last few minutes of cooking, pour the reserved marinade over the chicken in the skillet. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes until it thickens slightly and coats the chicken, creating a glaze.

Serving: Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet over the chicken, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.

Enjoy: Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables to soak up the delicious sauce!
