Ingredients

8 Hawaiian sweet rolls

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for cooking)

Fresh pineapple slices (for serving)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Optional: toasted coconut flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined. Set aside.

Slice the Rolls: Carefully slice each Hawaiian roll in half without separating the tops from the bottoms, creating a sort of pocket for the egg mixture.

Soak the Rolls: Dip each of the sliced Hawaiian rolls into the egg mixture, ensuring they are well-coated and absorbing some liquid. Allow excess to drip off.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or griddle, melt one tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Cook the French Toast: Place the soaked Hawaiian rolls, cut side down, in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed for the second batch.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the rolls from the skillet and arrange them on a serving platter. Top with fresh pineapple slices, drizzle with maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes for extra flair if desired.

Enjoy: Serve your Hawaiian Roll French Toast warm and enjoy the sweet, tropical flavors!
