Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup diced cooked ham

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for greasing)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with a little melted butter.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.

In a separate bowl, mix the milk and melted butter together.

Pour the milk and butter mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. The dough will be thick and slightly lumpy—do not overmix.

Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough into the prepared baking dish, distributing them evenly but not pressing them down.

Pour any remaining melted butter over the top of the biscuits for that glorious buttery swim.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and cooked through.

Allow to cool slightly before serving to let them set but enjoy while still warm!

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 12 biscuits

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the biscuits warm in the baking dish or transfer them to a large platter, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a pop of color. Consider serving with a side of honey for a delightful sweet contrast.
