Ingredients
  

1 lb (450g) fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp dried thyme (or 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the cleaned mushrooms with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently until they are well-coated.

      Arrange the mushrooms on a baking sheet, gill side up.

        In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.

          Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the dried thyme and half of the grated Parmesan cheese.

            Spoon the garlic-butter mixture evenly over the mushrooms, making sure to fill the gills.

              Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top of the mushrooms.

                Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown.

                  Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes.

                    Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
