Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 red chili, finely sliced (adjust spice level to taste)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Begin by blanching the green beans. In a large pot of boiling water, add the trimmed green beans and cook for about 3 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender.

Immediately transfer the green beans to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes, then drain and set aside.

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sliced chili. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly with the garlic and chili mixture.

Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, then stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beans are heated through and slightly tender.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the flavors as necessary.

Remove from heat and transfer the green beans to a serving platter.

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish before serving.
