Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

Begin by preparing the broccoli. Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling salted water for about 2-3 minutes until vibrant green and slightly tender. Immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking and preserve the color. Drain well.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), sautéing for about 1 minute or until fragrant.

Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink. Flip the shrimp and cook for another 2-3 minutes until completely cooked through.

Stir in the blanched broccoli, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Toss everything together gently for about 2 minutes until the broccoli is heated through and coated with the garlic butter.

Remove from heat and sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top for a burst of color and flavor before serving.
