Ingredients

8 oz (225g) spaghetti or fettuccine

6 cloves of garlic, minced

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice)

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti or fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In the same pot, lower the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic, sautéing gently until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Add Seasonings: Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to release their flavor.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta directly into the pot with the garlic butter. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If the mixture seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.

Finishing Touches: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, lemon zest (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss everything together again to ensure the pasta is well-coated.

Serve: Plate the pasta in bowls, garnishing with additional parsley, a sprinkle of Parmesan, and a lemon wedge on the side for an extra burst of freshness.

Prep Time, Total Time, Servings: 10 mins | 20 mins | Serves 2-3

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the pasta in a beautiful dish with a sprinkle of extra parsley on top and a light drizzle of olive oil for glossiness. Add a spoonful of the garlic butter sauce around the edges for a gourmet touch.
