3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for garlic butter)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

      Combine Ingredients: Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with the melted butter and the egg. Mix until a dough starts to form.

        Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

          First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

            Prepare Garlic Butter: While the dough is rising, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Set aside.

              Shape the Rolls: Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

                Second Rise: Place the rolled dough balls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

                  Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

                    Brush with Garlic Butter: After the second rise, generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the top of the rolls.

                      Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
