Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 cup shredded provolone cheese

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 pound thinly sliced roast beef

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make Biscuit Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the cold, cubed butter and incorporate it into the flour using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Cheese and Buttermilk: Gently fold in the shredded provolone cheese. Create a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overwork the dough.

Shape Biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick, then fold it in half and roll it out again. Repeat this twice, incorporating some extra flour if the dough is too sticky. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass. You should get about 10-12 biscuits.

Bake the Biscuits: Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Prepare the Beef Dip: Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Bring to a gentle simmer.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Slice the cooked biscuits in half. Pile high with warm roast beef and serve with a small bowl of beef broth on the side for dipping.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the sandwiches for a pop of color.

                  Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the French Dip Biscuits on a wooden cutting board with the beef broth in small ramekins for dipping. You could also add some pickles or potato chips on the side for added crunch!
