Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

¾ cup buttermilk

1 pound thinly sliced roast beef

1 cup beef broth

½ cup provolone cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Biscuit Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add the cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Buttermilk: Pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.

Form Biscuits: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a couple of times. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake Biscuits: Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

Prepare the Beef Dip: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, then add the roast beef, heating until warmed through.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Slice the baked biscuits in half. Place a generous amount of roast beef on the bottom half of each biscuit. Top with shredded provolone cheese.

Melt the Cheese: Return the assembled biscuits to the oven for about 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese melts.

Serve: Remove and top with the other half of the biscuit. Serve hot with a small bowl of the warm beef broth for dipping. Garnish with fresh parsley.
