Ingredients

1 package of saltines (about 4 sleeves)

1 cup of canola oil

1 packet of dry ranch dressing mix

1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)

1/2 cup of sliced jalapeños (jarred or fresh)

1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, combine the canola oil, ranch dressing mix, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Whisk everything together until well blended.

Prep the Crackers: Place the saltines in a large resealable plastic bag or a wide shallow dish. If using a bag, you may want to split them into two bags to prevent them from breaking.

Add the Marinade: Pour the marinade over the saltines. If using a bag, seal it and gently shake to ensure all the crackers are evenly coated. If using a dish, use a spatula to turn the crackers, making sure they are all covered.

Add Jalapeños: Toss in sliced jalapeños, distributing them throughout the saltines for an extra kick.

Marinate: Allow the crackers to marinate for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, turning them occasionally to ensure even soaking. The longer they marinate, the spicier they will become!

Bake (optional): Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Spread the crackers out on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for about 15-20 minutes to give them a toasty crunch. Stir halfway through for even baking.

Garnish and Serve: Let the firecrackers cool, then transfer them to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for a touch of color. Serve as a spicy snack for gatherings or game days!
