Ingredients
  

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 cup milk

1 large egg

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional toppings: powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or chocolate glaze

Instructions
 

Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Whisk together until well combined.

    Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

      Combine mixtures: Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth dough forms. Avoid overmixing.

        Shape the donuts: Lightly flour a clean surface. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter or two different-sized round cookie cutters to cut out the donuts and their holes.

          Prepare the air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).

            Air fry the donuts: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the donuts in the basket, making sure they don’t touch. Air fry for 5-6 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

              Cool and glaze: Once the donuts are done, let them cool for a few minutes. If using toppings, you can either dust them with powdered sugar, dip them in cinnamon sugar, or glaze them with melted chocolate while they are still warm.

                Serve and enjoy: Serve the donuts warm or at room temperature. They are best eaten fresh!
