Ingredients

4 cube steaks, about 1 inch thick

1 cup sliced mushrooms (button or cremini)

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups egg noodles or pasta of choice

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Season the cube steaks with salt and pepper, and sear them in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the steaks and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and mushrooms, cooking until softened (about 3-5 minutes). Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Pour in the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and smoked paprika. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly, about 5-7 minutes.

If using egg noodles, cook them according to package instructions separately until al dente; drain well.

In a large casserole dish, layer the cooked egg noodles in the bottom. Place the seared cube steaks on top of the noodles.

Pour the creamy mushroom sauce over the steaks, ensuring they are well covered.

If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top for added flavor.

Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the steaks are cooked through.

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
